Meet Mary Ann

I stand by my belief that everything should have a place and a label maker can fix just about anything.

Every part of MASH has grown from the experiences and passions in my own life. I’ve built on what I’ve done in my personal homes and properties to distinguish four services for clients: Property Management and Rentals, Home Organization, Interior Design, and Home Staging.

I not only want to make your home look beautiful, but I’m here to help it function beautifully too, and I do this through my eye for design and precise organizational skills.

When I decided to start a business,

it was my lifelong love of interior design and home organization that led me to work with homes and real estate. I first started with property management where I used my eye for design, organizational skills, and background in sales to purchase, renovate, and lease residential spaces in the Birmingham area.

In addition to providing high quality rental properties, my husband, in-laws, and I bought and sold several homes, giving me hours of experience staging homes to go on the market. My staged homes have become favorites among local realtors because of how I ideally style them to look and function to attract the right buyers.

As my friends saw my design work, they started asking me for design advice and guidance on who to hire for design services.

I quickly noticed an opportunity within the market to offer more reasonable hours and convenient accessibility to clients, and I stepped in to fill the gap.

One of the distinct ways I serve my clients is

by offering a flexible schedule. I intentionally provide evening and weekend meeting options because I believe convenient accessibility stands out and serves clients well, especially those who work full-time and cannot accommodate daytime hours.

Before starting MASH, I worked in medical device sales after earning my Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing with a minor in Pharmacy Administration from the University of Mississippi. I was also a cheerleader at Ole Miss, and you’ll see that even now, my energy and enthusiasm is present in all I do for you and your home.

Meet Cathleen

Architecture and interior design have been my passion since I was young. I loved to tag along and explore homes with my mother and her dear friend who was a realtor. These experiences helped me hone my eye for design and fueled a desire to study and learn more about these disciplines. My love of Art History, Studio Art, and Art grew and was nurtured by my art teacher, Mrs. Black, and the Head of School, Mr. Carl Martin Hames, during my time at The Altamont School.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and Studio Art from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, studied abroad at The University of Edinburgh, and competed successfully on the Equestrian Team all four years while at Skidmore. Prior to working with MASH Design House, I worked in cardiac device sales for twenty years serving cardiology and electrophysiology physicians, patients, and staff.

My education and career experience over the years have molded me to be a team player and collaborator and have strengthened my organizational skills and tireless attention to detail. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two little boys, and our dogs in the outdoors. We love traveling, hiking and snow skiing.

I am truly excited and blessed to be a part of MASH Design House and look forward to meeting and helping each of our clients elevate their homes to reach the ultimate potential, both functionally and aesthetically.

REMEMBER THE GAME MASH WE’D ALL PLAY AS KIDS?

For me and my husband Sanjeev, we came together to make our own dream MASH scenario (MaryAnn and Sanjeev Hasabnis), hence the name of my business. Sanjeev is a local cardiologist, and I describe us as “The Brady Bunch” with our blended family of four kids and our “baby,” Newfoundland puppy McKenzie.

In my free time I love to… wait… what free time! With 4 kids: 8, 10, 14, and 15 years old, we are always on the go, but when I do have free time I love:

  • Walking our dog

  • Traveling with my husband

  • Spending time with my parents- they live a mile away!

  • Spending weekends at Lake Martin

  • Playing in the backyard with my kids!

I’M EXCITED TO WORK WITH YOU!
